I don't however see that "as proof of the management system not working", but simply that it presently isn't able to manage that particular profile. When I look at the ACDSee Manage mode properties of an image that has a Display P3 embedded color profile, it shows the profile as N/A (not available), so my expectation would be that ACDSee would use the default color profile set in Tools\Options\Color Management for its adjustment to other profiles, and that is obviously not providing the results that you need. The help file makes it clear however that if an image has NO embedded color profile, the profile set up as Default in Tools\Options\Color Management will be used If an image has an embedded ICC color profile that is supported by ACDSee, and Color Management is enabled, ACDSee will use that profile and will try to adjust the colors to best match the ICC profile set up in the system for the monitor, and for exports or outputs to any other ICC profiled devices.
